The American pit bull comes in a wide variety of colors, but one color it does NOT come in is blue merle, as shown here. Blue merle coloration is most often indicative of cross breeding with Catahoula dogs, a common practice in the rural South. |
"BLUE NOSED!" "RED NOSED!" "SHORT & LOWS!" "AMERICAN BULLIES!" I don't sell dogs. One reasons I don't is I want my readers to trust that I am giving them THE TRUTH - not a sales pitch. What is important to me is this: the American pit bull breed. There is no other breed surrounded by so much misinformation - or so many people harming it in order to make money. I'll help you wade through the hype, tall tales, outright lies and nonsense that "fad breeders" use to try and convince you that they have something "better" or "rare" in the way of a pit bull. Better? What is better than a real deal pit bull? The fact that these guys are trying to "improve" the centuries old pit bull breed tells you one thing: they have never met a good one - or they would not be trying to "improve" the breed by dumbing it down!
The truth is "hate speech"
only to those who have The peddlers call those of us who love American pit bulls "haters" and say we are jealous. Of what? Their mixed breed dogs? Dogs with no purpose or ability? Dogs who break out in a pant getting off the couch? They are wrong - we are lovers - lovers of the American pit bull and angry at those who disrespect the breed so horribly when they call their dogs "pit bulls"!
There are two ways to be fooled:
One is to believe what Emotions can run high on this subject because people love their dogs. Bottom line, if you own an "American Bully" or other pit bull type mix, I hope you have a great dog, love that dog, and enjoy it for many years. But please learn THE TRUTH behind your dog. Don't be angry - don't be defensive: read on and learn. Perhaps you will gain a new understanding and be able to make decisions on further breeding or purchases which will not be harmful to the American pit bull breed. Who knows - you could very well discover the REAL American pit bull and become an important link in the preservation of this ancient and noble breed.
